A Lodge for Sale in Kelowna’s Backcountry
The Main Lodge was built in 1947, with an addition in 1981, and holds the office, the store and a 3 bedroom, 1.5 bath owner’s residence. In addition, the resort has a central wash house and a heated 24 by 24 foot equipment shop. Every cottage and cabin has an airtight wood stove, with wood supplied, and some also have fireplaces.
The owners have reinvested steadily. New docks went in in 2024, and in 2025 they added a solar system with 31 panels, 64 kWh of lithium battery storage and a new 12 kW inverter, with diesel generator backup. They also added a children’s playground, new water heaters and ongoing gravel, site and electrical work.
Six Lakes and Four Seasons of Recreation
Guests come for rainbow and brook trout fishing, with on-site access to Postill, Twin, Meadow, South, Roddy and Heron lakes. Access to six lakes is the hardest thing for a competing fish camp to copy. Swimming, boating, mountain biking and hiking round out the summer, and the property is reached by a 15 km forest service road off Highway 97, the main Okanagan corridor.
Crown Land Lease
The resort operates on Provincial Crown land under a Land Act Commercial Recreation Lease (No. 348958) rather than on a zoned, fee-simple parcel. The lease permits operating and maintaining a commercial fish camp and runs for 35 years from January 2, 2016, to January 2, 2051. New Crown land resort tenures on Okanagan-area lakes are rarely issued today. The resort is off-grid: water is drawn from the lake, with a boil-water advisory on some units, and wastewater goes to a septic system with three holding tanks and a septic field, pumped every spring, alongside a central shower house.
